1. Rynek (Market Square) Market Square is the very heart and soul of Wroclaw, sitting at the old town's very center. After WWII, they completely rebuilt and restored the old town. The best time to visit is at Christmas time, when festive markets, twinkling lights, and the smells of Christmas spices are everywhere!
Should I visit Wroclaw or Gdansk in the Spring? Both Gdansk and Wroclaw during the spring are popular places to visit. Wroclaw is a little warmer than Gdansk in the spring. The daily temperature in Wroclaw averages around 9掳C (48掳F) in April, and Gdansk fluctuates around 6掳C (43掳F). In the spring, Wroclaw often gets less sunshine than Gdansk.
Is Wroclaw worth visiting? Wroclaw is not only worth visiting, I truly believe, that if you really want to experience Polish culture, you should visit Wroclaw alongside Krakow. Wroclaw has an incredible history with architecture and sights to show for it.
If Poland has made it's way on to your travel list, you've likely made plans to visit Warsaw. Maybe even Krakow. I'd really encourage you to make time for some of the other well-preserved cities though. In my opinion, Wroclaw, Poznan and Gdansk are worthy of making their way onto a first-timer's itinerary. I also would like to know if they sponsor any basic Polish course and if it's worth it learning some since I think it is a really difficult language. I also hope to go to Wroclaw :). I think all Erasmus students must take 60 hours of polish lessons on University so language wont be that big of a problem. .
